Understanding the beginning

Many candidates struggle to hear the beginning of repeat sentences. Some tutors claim Pearson clips are missing the first few words, but that’s a myth. What’s happening is often a listening “filter” created by your first language.

Here is practice focusing on one of the most common sentence types in PTE: instructions, suggestions and obligations.

Modals: You/We + modal or auxiliary verb: WILL (often contracted ’ll), MUST, CAN, CAN’T, NEED TO, HAVE TO.
