Modern English-AU exists because something important is missing.

The English-language learning market in Australia is no longer driven by Australian voices. Online, it is dominated by influencer-teachers with limited classroom experience, or by large overseas markets producing content for their own national audiences. Much of this material is well marketed, but poorly grounded in Australian language use, assessment standards, or real migrant experience.

For many migrants—especially those from smaller countries and smaller markets—this creates a real problem. When every tutor you encounter online is teaching through the lens of another country’s accent, test strategy, or cultural assumptions, you are quietly discouraged from engaging with Australian sources, Australian English, and Australian ways of communicating.

I come from the Australian system. I have taught in ELICOS colleges, worked as an examiner, delivered university-level test preparation, and designed learning for adult migrants navigating real stakes: visas, work, and life in Australia. Knowing how to market English online is not the same as knowing how people actually acquire it.

Modern English Australia is my response to that gap. I design micro-lessons and tools that reflect Australian life, culture, and communication, and I design with how people now read, concentrate, and learn in mind. I want to do things differently—and better.
